The Montessori Method in Orange County
Hillside Montessori School employs an authentic Montessori method in each classroom. The Montessori Method at Hillside has several components that follow the original philosophies of Dr. Maria Montessori. The Orange County families who partner with us can trust us to use proper Montessori learning techniques.
Our teachers lead mixed-age classrooms, with children who range from 3–6 years old. Our students choose what they would like to do each day from a prescribed range of materials. After instruction, each child gets uninterrupted blocks of work time, where they can pursue individual projects for as long as 2 hours. All the specialized educational materials we use in our classrooms were developed by Dr. Montessori and her collaborators. Each teacher is trained in her method, emphasizing freedom of movement for each child throughout the classroom. Our dedication to the methodology makes us one of the best Montessori schools in Orange County.
